Water baby

Our little guy loves the water! Fortunately for us we live about 15-20 mins. away from three different splash pads! My favorite one is in Hesston. One morning last week while dad was at basketball camp, Miles and I drove over to Hesston to play. It was HOT so the splash pad was perfect. There were a ton of kids there too so that made it more enjoyable for Miles.

Before all the kids showed up
He had a hard time sharing this sprayer

Waiting for the bucket to drop!

Since he loves the water so much, we also decided to get him a little pool for the backyard. We filled it up one evening this week and even though the water was ice cold and the air temp wasn't all that hot, Miles still jumped in and had a blast. He couldn't even wait to put his swimsuit on!

While in Utah...

We had a lot of fun and got to see a lot of friends and family! I was horrible about taking pictures the entire week though and only have a handful of pics to share.

We arrived in Logan, UT middle of the afternoon on Memorial Day. Dave's brother, Dan, was hosting a family BBQ. It was nice to be able to see so many of the Kents at one time! After having an enjoyable afternoon and evening catching up with everyone, we then spent the night at Dan's. Tuesday morning after I worked for a bit we loaded up again and headed south to Provo. We were going to stay in one of those extended stay hotels, but after we checked in we realized there was no way that would work for a week. The internet connection was very iffy and the room wasn't all that exciting either. Because of the internet issue (which I need to work and I needed to work all week) they let us check out and gave us all of our money back. Jake, one of Dave's brothers, helped us get a deal on a much better room at a different hotel in the Provo area. It was a REALLY nice place, but instead of staying for a full week we could only afford to stay for five days.

We made good use of our five days in Provo! We met with a realtor and got our townhouse listed for sale. We have an assumable loan on it so we aren't technically selling it, just hoping someone can assume the loan and take over the payments. We also got to spend time with three of our old neighbors from the townhouses; the Blackners, Kerns, and Lapiolis. It was so good to catch up with them. The Blackners and Kerns have moved away from the townhouses and both have nice new homes. It was fun to see their new places! All the kiddos have grown up so much. Miles seemed to remember everyone and had a good time playing with their toys! While in Provo we also had to eat at our favorite spots (Bajio, Rumbi, In-N-Out, Tucanos, The Chocolate) multiple times. We also drove the Alpine Loop a couple of times to get our mountain fix. It was a wonderful five days!

The Disney "Up" house is just down the street from the Blackners' new house!

Sunday morning we attended church in our old ward. It was good to see our old friends/neighbors! After church we then made our way north again, but this time stopped in Bountiful to spend some time with Dave's brother Jake. Jake invited more of the Kents over for a BBQ so we could say good-bye to everyone. Not everyone could make it and those who couldn't were missed! It was a nice evening and a good way to end our trip. We then got up Monday morning and began our trek home again. We arrived home around lunchtime on Tuesday. We were all exhausted but so glad we were able to go!

Unmotivated

I've been totally unmotivated to keep our blog updated. Maybe because I've been doing it for so long I've run out of interest? Maybe because no one really comments anymore I wonder if anyone is really even reading it? Maybe because so many people have quit blogging I've thought about joining them? Maybe I'm just too tired? I'm not entirely sure what my reason is, but because I enjoy looking back at our blog books and seeing what we've done over the last several years I will keep going and hopefully become interested in it again someday!

A lot has happened since my last post!

Miles finished his first year of preschool and on Tuesday, May 14th his preschool had an end of year party at the park.
Sitting with his class (plus the afternoon class)
Getting his certificate and gift from his teachers
So cute with his cowboy hat!
Posing for mom with his certificate
He's so cooperative for pictures!
Eating cake!
Grandma came to the celebration!
Even though we miss the big city, there are some positives to living in a small town. We dusted off our bikes and aired up the tires and went for our first bike ride of the season. On the way to the river we got stopped by a train and Miles was in HEAVEN! He loves watching the "ding dings" (the gates and bells) and hearing the train roar by.

Posing for a picture
On his way to throw rocks in the river
Throwing rocks in the river = one of his favorite things to do
To kick off the summer we decided to head to Utah for vacation. Dave's last day of school was May 24th and we left the evening of the 25th for Utah. We took our time going out and finally arrived at Dave's brother's house in Logan, UT middle of the afternoon on Memorial Day (May 27th). We stopped in Goodland, KS the first night and Grand Junction, CO the second night. Although it was nice to spend some time in our old stomping grounds (Grand Junction), taking that extra day to get to Utah made the trip feel SO much longer!

Along the way we had to stop and play!

Miles loves parks that have these digger things!
Again he LOVES to pose for pictures (ha ha!)
Playing in the pool at our hotel in GJ
He loves the water!
He got braver as the week went on

Miles is up from his nap now so that is all for now...
