Orem Owlz baseball game - we got free tickets to a game because Miles played T-ball through the Provo Rec Center

Oliver enjoyed playing on the playground
I took Oliver home to go to bed, but Miles and Dave stayed through the end of the game and even watched the fireworks display afterwards. The game we went to was on July 3rd so the fireworks were perfect! It was Miles' first firework show and he LOVED every minute of it.
We've kind of made it a family tradition to attend our church's pancake breakfast on the 4th of July and then going to the splash pad afterwards. Every year we toss around the idea of going to the parade, but the heat and the amount of people always help us make the decision. Maybe when the boys are older we'll make it to the parade again.
On Monday, July 6th Miles started his two week swim lessons. He passed level two this year. He's becoming such a good swimmer and continues to love spending time in the water.
His favorite part of lessons - getting to go down the big slide on the last day!
He got his certificate!
Miscellaneous summer fun:
He still rubs his foot on his lips for comfort - even during a stressful video game!
Watching biology happen in our backyard
Movie date with mom
On July 23rd and 24th I got to spend some time with an old college friend from Kansas. Brooke and her family were traveling through Utah on their family vacation and took some time out of their busy schedule to hang out with us. It was SO wonderful to see them! We were in the process of buying our house so we weren't in a position to host them for the night, but we did drive them by the new house and hung out in the backyard for a bit. We also went up to Salt Lake and gave them a quick tour of Temple Square. It was fun catching up!
Lunch at City Creek
Ol' college buds!
We were in the thick of packing and getting ready for the big move into our HOUSE that we didn't do much for Dave's birthday. Poor guy! We did manage to get him a store bought cake and sang to him. We told each other that we bought each other a house for our birthdays. He also got dinner at his favorite place; Tucanos.
The 37-year-old
On July 27th (my grandma's birthday) we closed on our new house. We moved in on July 28th. We technically moved in before we officially owned it. The couple buying our townhouse had a special kind of loan that sort of slowed everything down. We were so glad when it was all over although it was probably our easiest move. Since we had no mortgage to pay in August we decided to put that money toward paying a company to move us. Best. Decision. Ever! Everything was moved from the townhouse to the new house in about 3 1/2 hours. It was amazing and fantastic!
Exploring our new backyard
Playing on our new deck
The sprinklers were on when we got there so we had to play in them (with our new found broom)
What Dave did while the movers worked hard
Our poor couch got injured though - and we're still trying to get them to make it right!
Our kitchen with boxes all over the counters
Our new neighborhood is fantastic. Miles and Oliver became instant friends with the two boys across the street who are close to their ages. There is also another family down the street that has children close to the same age. They all enjoy each other and love playing outside together. We couldn't ask for a better place to be!
Dave, Miles, and Oliver were invited over for some slip 'n slide fun
