T-ball

Our local rec center is amazing and offers all kinds of opportunities for children and families. I love that we can expose Miles to all types of activities/sports with very little cost involved. When I realized Miles was old enough to be in T-ball this spring I got so excited. I think I even enrolled him in T-ball back in February knowing it wouldn't start until May.

May finally arrived and on the 9th Miles got to play in his first ever T-ball game. We hadn't really taken the opportunity to explain T-ball to him, but he caught on fairly quickly. He's had three games now and he seems to overall be enjoying it even though being out in the field gets boring for him. He likes to hit the ball and to run the bases for sure! He has games until the end of June. It'll be fun to watch him progress in the sport.

His first couple of games were so cold!
Brushing off the pitcher's mound
I think he likes being the pitcher (even though it's T-ball) - there's more action in that position
Up to bat - it took him a bit to figure out how to hit the ball off the "T"

Baby Bulldog Preschool Graduation

On Friday, May 8th Miles graduated from Provo High's preschool program. They invited parents to come the last hour and had a graduation ceremony. Miles and his classmates were so cute in their graduation caps. They had a cute little program prepared and then had each kid walk across the stage. They even got a diploma! I have to admit that when they started playing the traditional graduation song I teared up a little bit. Time has flown by so fast. I can hardly believe that he's off to kindergarten in the fall (now we just need to figure out where he's going)!

Random May pictures

Glad I got this picture of Dave in his Target uniform because now he has a new uniform and he doesn't look so much like an actual cop. Miles always thought his dad was a cop and was going to go pull people over.
It's fun to have Grandma around! She lets me play with her phone.
Fun in the backyard
He loves the lawnmower
Enjoying the NKOTB tour from the comfort of my own couch! So thankful for modern technology.
Saw this sign at Hobby Lobby and immediately thought of Dave and I!

My last week

After we got back from our trip to Kansas over Spring Break, I had one week of being a stay-at-home mom left before I started working full-time. I had a long list of "to-dos" that I wanted to get done because I knew my time would be limited after I started my new job. I also tried to soak up every minute I had with the boys! We had a great week together.

He LOVES his snacks and will go to the pantry often asking for "more."

Finally finished their name signs for their room
My mom agreed to come stay with us for six weeks to watch the boys after I started my new job on April 20th. I hated to even consider the idea of having to put Miles and Oliver in daycare right at the end of Miles' preschool year. I didn't want to make him go through a change that big and miss the end of the year. Thankfully she agreed to come watch them so that their routine could stay the same until school was over both for Miles and for Dave. Miles and Oliver have LOVED staying with Grandma during the day while Mom and Dad are at work! They are both going to be so sad when she leaves in a couple of weeks although I'm sure they'll have a great summer with Dad.

My new job has been going good. I've enjoyed being back at UW! My heart definitely belongs in the non-profit world. It gives me great pride to be a part of such a wonderful cause. It has been hard to be away from the boys all day (especially since they both seem to be so cranky in the evenings), but I've also enjoyed being away from them during the day. So far it feels like a good balance for me at this time in my life.

The rest of spring break

We spent the next five days seeing some of our favorite people, eating at our favorite Kansas restaurants, and having lots of fun! We had a great time in Kansas and are so glad we were able to make the trip. Like always, there are people that we wanted to see but didn't get to and are hopeful next time we're in town our schedules will work out so we can see them. We love our Kansas family and friends and miss all of you SO much!
