It's war!

Dave and I find this quite amusing! One of our favorite fast food restaurants is Panda Express. The local Panda Express is in a tiny shopping center that has another restaurant by the name of Pita Pit. The parking lot is entirely too small to accommodate all of the patrons to both of these restaurants! When we first moved to Provo there were signs in this small parking lot that said more parking is available behind the shopping center at the Malt Shoppe. So, whenever we can't find a parking spot up front we always park back behind Panda Express in the Malt Shoppe's parking lot. No big deal. Well, in the last month these HUGE signs have been posted in the Malt Shoppe's parking lot.

I took these photos with my cell phone so the signs are hard to read. The first picture with the big yellow banner reads, "Dear Pita Pit Customers, please do not ignore this warning sign. We are currently having a huge parking lot issue with the Pita Pit. Please do not park in the area reserved for the Malt Shoppe and Panda Express customers only. As soon as you walk into the Pita Pit, your car will be towed in 10 seconds. Do not try to argue that you were going to buy food at the Malt Shoppe/Panda Express afterwards. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your cooperation."

The second picture with the long and skinny banner reads, "All Pita Pit customers will be towed immediately by the towing agreement. Only Panda Express customers can park at Malt Shoppe."

The third picture is essentially the sign that talks about the towing agreement and how much they will charge you to tow your car.

Very interesting! I wonder what is going on? I sort of feel bad for the Pita Pit customers because it is hard to find a spot up front most of the time!

I did it!

After almost four years of having my hair "long" I finally decided to cut it off again. I went in this afternoon with our engagement photos and asked the lady to give me that exact cut again. I just am way to lazy to have long hair because it means that I have to blow dry it and flat iron it everyday! Plus, I think short hair makes me not look so chubby cheeked as well. Although I was very nervous to go back to short hair, so far I am glad I did it!

Spring Break

For the second year in a row, we went to sunny St. George, Utah for Dave's Spring Break! The weather was absolutely gorgeous! We left for St. George on Wednesday, April 16th, just one day after we received another spring snow storm in northern Utah. So, needless to say I was ready for some warm weather. While in town we were able to spend some time with my friend, Erin, and her family and also Dave's friend, Jarrod, and his family. We had a good time! We did some exploring and went to Snow Canyon State Park for the first time. Next time we go down there for a visit I think we might try to camp at that campground. It was really pretty and has lots of trails to explore. We hauled our pop-up trailer to St. George and stayed at a very luxurious RV park with free WiFi and cable T.V. We also took our dogs, Missy and Buddy. Missy and Buddy met sheep for the first time. I'm not quite sure Missy knew what to think of them. Yesterday before we headed home Dave and I went four-wheeling with Jarrod. It was a lot of fun and very neat to see the city from a different aspect. Even though it is a desert it has a different kind of beauty. We came home to very windy and fairly chilly air. Although we had a GREAT time, it is always nice to be home!

Project

Our church had a "Super Saturday" several months ago where the women got together and worked on craft projects. I was unable to attend the event, but learned from one of my friends the process of putting vinyl lettering on tile. We had one piece of tile leftover from our kitchen tiling project so I thought it would be perfect to use that tile and put a good quote on it in vinyl lettering. With the help of the Home Economics teacher at Dave's school and the school's Cricut machine, I was able to accomplish this project. I think it turned out pretty good. Now I just have to figure out where to put it in our house and will probably have to get a sturdier stand for it since my plate holder can't handle the weight for very long.

They're back!

I know I'm going to totally get made fun of for this post, especially by my brother-in-laws, but I have to admit that I am a little excited to see these 5 guys reuniting! Who knows if they'll sound any good (we'll find out on May 16th on the Today Show...according to Dave they never sounded good even when they were younger), but it reminds me of simpler times in my life.

I was a HUGE fan! I owned every one of their tapes, had my room plastered from floor to ceiling with their posters, had their trading cards and even owned all 5 of their dolls (Ken style dolls). I even went to their concert when they came to Wichita, KS with my future sister-in-law. I was obsessed to say the least! But, at that time in my life I was young and had no worries...boy times are different now!

These guys are approaching their 40s and have aged quite a bit! It is amazing what time does to us all. They are releasing their new album this summer and are going on tour in the fall. If they come to concert anywhere close to here you can bet I'll probably go! Dave said he won't go with me, but I'm sure I can get one of my girl friends to join me!

2nd is the new 1st!

Did you watch the 2008 NCAA Division I National Championship basketball game last? I'm not a huge sports fan, but was encouraged by my dear husband to watch KU play last night for the title. I have to say it was a nail biter, but KU came out victorious! I'm so proud of them! The last time they won the title was back in 1988. I was 9 years old and vaguely remember watching the game with my older brother or at least hearing the outcome of it. I suppose you can't live in Kansas or grow up in Kansas without knowing that the Jayhawks won the National Championship. Last night KU defeated Memphis 75-68 in overtime for its fifth national title in school history! What a FANTASTIC game!

I also have to brag a little bit about myself. Dave's family is really into sports and get involved in some of the online sports fantasy competitions. They do fantasy football in the fall and do the March Madness bracket in the spring. I never get involved because I just don't know or care much about sports. This March Madness was different. I decided that I would get involved, but under an alias name just in case I lost horribly! I don't know anything about any team other than the fact that I've always been a KU fan and even went to school there briefly. I always have to support them. I randomly picked the other teams often picking the underdog to win...unless I had never heard of the underdog. I, of course, picked KU to win it all and they did it!!! So, in the Kent competition I came in 2nd only 8 points behind my brother-in-law, Jake. I proudly declared last night to Dave that 2nd place is the new 1st place! I know that winning competitions like this is really based on luck, but it was nice to actually do well in a competition I thought for sure I would lose badly at. I even beat Dave which doesn't happen very often at anything.

Needless to say, today is a good day and I'm proud to say that I'm a Kansan!
