More shots

Miles had his 6 month doctor's appointment today. I always enjoy going just to see what his stats are. He keeps growing and growing and growing. He also got more shots, which he doesn't enjoy, but he does such a great job and doesn't cry too much. The doctor was running behind so we spent about an hour there and we were both definitely ready to leave by the end!!!

His stats:

Weight - 20.44 lbs, 88th percentile
Length - 28.75 inches, 97th percentile (do I hear future basketball player???)
Head circumference - 17.25 inches, 47th percentile

Meeting Lily

We traveled up to Tremonton this weekend to meet the newest member of the family, Lily Jo. What a cutie pie!!! She also seems soooooo small compared to our tub-a-lub Miles although Lily is about the same size Miles was at the same age. She is so cute and has the cutest little cry. When she would cry Miles would just stare at her. I don't think he knew what to think of her. It's fun to think someday they will be best buds (or at least I hope). Here are a few pictures from the weekend...

Miles playing in Lily's swing (he loved playing with the buttons!)

Lily sunbathing

Best buds (obviously Lily was thrilled to be having her picture taken with Miles)

Springtime in Utah

We go from this just two days ago:

GORGEOUS day!!!
(we just got back from a long walk with some neighbors)

To this this morning:

The red plants are my Bleeding Hearts coming up and the white stuff is snow!
I know it isn't much snow, but the fact that it is cold enough to snow makes it all that much worse!!!

And a random photo of our very flexible little guy (taken last night during his bath)!

More pictures of Miles

As mentioned before, a lady at our church did Miles' 6 month pictures. She posted a few of them on her blog. Check it out HERE! I'm so excited with how they turned out! Can't wait to see the rest. Thanks Aynn, you do GREAT work!

6 months old

Another month has come and gone in Miles' life and he is now a big 6 months old! I know I say this every month, but it is hard to believe how fast he is growing up. The time really just flies by. He is learning and growing by the second! We are getting closer and closer to becoming an officially legal/eternal family and we couldn't be more excited. We are also getting closer and closer to the end of RSV season which means Miles will get to make his debut to the world soon as well. I'm looking forward to being able to do things as a family, especially go to church. Everyone is anxious to meet him!

Here are a few things Miles learned this month:
  • He has perfected the art of sitting, well almost!
  • He can sleep for 12 straight hours at night!!! This makes mom and dad super super happy!
  • He has been started on baby food and so far has tried sweet potatoes and squash and loves both.
  • He can hold his own bottle.
  • He can get almost everywhere he wants to go just by rolling.
  • He LOVES sleeping on his tummy, which scared mom and dad at first.
  • He found his toes and loves to suck on them or his sock that is usually in the way of his toes.
  • He continues to love to "talk" and can be very vocal.
  • He is trying to push up on to his knees and can often be found on his tummy with his butt in the air.
In honor of his 6 mo. birthday and our upcoming events as a family, we had pictures taken yesterday morning. A lady at our church did them and I am so excited to see how they turned out! I'll be sure to post the pictures when we get them.

Spring snow

Well, technically it isn't spring yet, but I want it to be! We had a snowstorm come through Thursday night and I decided that on Friday I would take Miles out in it and get some pictures. Of course by the time we got around to it later in the day on Friday most of it had already melted. But, since Miles has a snowsuit (courtesy of Uncle Zach and Aunt Tammy) we decided to drive up the canyon to get some pictures. The snowsuit was supposed to be for up to 9 mos. in size, but Miles' legs were about a foot too long for it so he looks pretty darn funny all curled up inside. We were laughing so hard while trying to get a few pics!

I think we waited too long to use the suit and to get pics of him in the snow! Oh well, there is always next year!
