Miles turned THREE last Friday! I can't believe how fast he is growing up. We are so blessed to have him in our lives and love celebrating his milestones along the way!
On his actual birthday we went into Wichita and had lunch with Dad. Later that evening Grandma came over to have pizza with us. Pizza is Miles' favorite food these days. Dave spent the evening putting together a swing set Grandma got Miles for his birthday. I spent the evening cleaning the house getting ready for Miles' party. Grandma and Miles spent the evening exploring the backyard!
Saturday we got up early and went to the Sedgwick County Zoo. Miles had been talking about going to the zoo to see the animals for his birthday for the last month so we figured we should probably do that since that was the only thing he wanted to do. Grandma offered to bring Keaghan and Laiken with her so Miles would have other children around and Grandpa also met us at the zoo. It was a chilly rainy morning, but it turned out absolutely perfect! There were hardly any people there so those three kiddos pretty much had the run of the zoo. We made it about three hours before all three of the kiddos were on the verge of meltdowns. That zoo has gotten so big that even in the three hours we were there we didn't get to see everything. I think we got to see the important things though!

Saying good-bye to Grandpa
After the zoo we said goodbye to Grandpa. Grandma and the girls followed us back to Halstead. Cathy & George (my aunt and uncle) had already arrived from Kansas City when we got home. After everyone had a chance to say their hellos, we put a movie on for the girls and put Miles down for a nap. The adults were busy getting ready for Miles' party. We made homemade ice cream! Yum! Dave and George finished up the swing set. We also did some decorating of the backyard.
By the time Miles woke up from his nap everything was finished and ready to go! He and the girls had fun breaking in the new swing set before the party started.
